Mechanic Sound Workout

Workshop

Berlin, 2009
Berlin's CTM Festival invited me to give a workshop on building electromechanic synthesizers. We used all kinds of motors, springs and solenoids to build wild sound machines. Some of the vibrations were picked up with piezos and amplified. At the end, we connected all the individual sound machines to a large installation in which an old strowger switch from a telephone distribution unit was used as step sequencer. With this, we could let the mini machines play a rhythmic pattern.

The outcome of the workshop was a sound installation for the festival visitors to enjoy

Special thanks

Thanks to all the workshop participants for their enthusiastic participation and to CTM for inviting me!
